Belém Tower, Portugal

Belém Tower a fortified tower located in the Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal.

The Belém Tower was built in the early sixteenth century in the Portuguese late-Gothic style, the Manueline, to commemorate Vasco da Gama's expedition. This defensive, yet elegant construction has become one of the symbols of the city, a memorial to Portuguese power as it was during the Age of Discovery. In 1983, it was classified, together with the nearby Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery), as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Saint George Fountain, Trier, Germany

The Saint George Fountain is a fountain in the district of Mitte / Gartenfeld of Trier. He is considered one of the most beautiful rococo fountain Germany.
It is located on the grain market in the Old Town. The Saint George Wells was in the years 1750 to 1751 according to plans by the court Johannes Seiz, the builder of the Electoral Palace, in honor of the sovereign elector Franz Georg von Schönborn with depictions of the seasons and the St. George was built. He was like the Peter Fountain on the main market to the 19th century by the Holy Daufborn today when Mr. Chen announced Brno fed. The tip of the fountain stands approximately eleven meters in height.

Trianon Park, Brasil

The Parque Tenente Siqueira Campos, known as the Trianon Park or Parque Trianon, was inaugurated in April of 1892 with the opening of the Avenida Paulista in the city of São Paulo. It was designed by landscape French Paul Villon.

Porto Alegre, Brasil

Porto Alegre is the tenth most populous municipality in Brazil and the capital city of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Porto Alegre is one of the most important cultural, political and economic centers of Southern Brazil. Two Mercosur countries, Argentina and Uruguay, border Rio Grande do Sul. It is also the centre of Brazil's fourth largest metropolitan area.

Tikal, Guatemala

Tikal is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the Pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It is located in the archaeological region of the Petén Basin in what is now modern-day northern Guatemala. Guatemala's Tikal National Park and in 1979 was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The closest large modern settlements are Flores and Santa Elena, approximately 64 kilometres (40 mi) by road to the southwest.

Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala

La Antigua Guatemala is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its well-preserved Spanish Mudéjar-influenced Baroque architecture as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pre-Hispanic Town of Uxmal, Mexico

Uxmal is a large pre-Columbian ruined city of the Maya civilization in the state of Yucatán, Mexico. It is 78 km south of Mérida, Yucatán, or 110 km from that city on Highway 261 towards Campeche, Campeche), 15 km south-southeast of the town of Muna.

Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca, Cuba

The Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca (also known by the less formal title of Castillo del Morro or as San Pedro de la Roca Castle) is a fortress on the coast of the Cuban city of Santiago de Cuba. About 6 miles (10 km) southwest of the city centre, it overlooks the bay.

Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works, Chile

Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works are two former saltpeter refineries located in northern Chile. They were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
Humberstone and Santa Laura are located 48 km east of the city of Iquique in the Atacama Desert in the Region of Tarapacá in northern Chile. Other saltpeter works or "nitrate towns" include Chacabuco, Maria Elena, Pedro de Valdivia, Puelma and Aguas Santas among many others. Chacabuco is a special case since it was also used as a concentration camp during Pinochet's regime, and to this day remains surrounded by lost landmines.
