Kathleen Lake, Kluane National Park, Yukon, Canada

Kluane National Park and Reserve are two units of Canada's national park system, located in the extreme southwestern corner of Yukon Territory. Kluane National Park Reserve was established in 1972, covering 22,016 square kilometres.
The park includes the highest mountain in Canada, Mount Logan (5,959 m) of the Saint Elias Mountains. In fact, mountains and glaciers dominate the park's landscape, covering 82% of its area. It contains close to 105 species of birds, including such birds as the Rock Ptarmigan and the mighty Golden and Bald Eagle.

Dinosaur Provincial Park, Canada

Dinosaur Provincial Park is a World Heritage Site located about two and a half hours drive southeast of Calgary, Alberta, Canada or 48 kilometers (30 mi) northeast of Brooks.
The park is situated in the valley of the Red Deer River, which is noted for its striking badland topography. The park is well known for being one of the greatest dinosaur fossil beds in the world. Thirty-nine dinosaur species have been discovered at the park and more than 500 specimens have been removed and exhibited in museums across the globe. Its significance justified it becoming a World Heritage Site in 1979.

Rideau Canal, Canada

The Rideau Canal, also known as the Rideau Waterway, connects the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the Ottawa River to the city of Kingston, Ontario on Lake Ontario. The canal was opened in 1832 as a precaution in case of war with the United States and is still in use today, with most of its original structures intact. The canal system uses sections of major rivers, including the Rideau and the Cataraqui, as well as some lakes. It is the oldest continuously operated canal system in North America, and in 2007, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Highland light Infantry, Private, 1829, Canada

The Highland Light Infantry of Canada was an infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. Originally founded in 1886 as the 29th Waterloo Battalion of Infantry the regiment went through several name changes including: 1900 - 29th Waterloo Regiment, and; 1915 - 29th Regiment (Highland Light Infantry of Canada); acquiring its present title in 1920. In 1954, as a result of the Kennedy Report on the Reserve Army, this regiment was amalgamated with The Perth Regiment to form The Perth and Waterloo Regiment (Highland Light Infantry of Canada).

Commissioned by the Toronto Historical Board, this series of water-colours by J.C.H. Forster is on display at Historic Fort York, Garrison Road, Toronto

Canadian Rocky Mountains, Canada

The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site is located in the Canadian Rockies. It consists of four national parks, Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho.
This area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 for the mountain landscapes containing mountain peaks, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons and limestone caves as well as fossils found here.
