Historic Town of Goslar, Germany

Germany-19, originally uploaded by Abhishek's Received Postcards.

The imperial city of Goslar has a millennial history. The discovery of the first silver veins has probably the Saxon and Salian emperors to adopt at this point their biggest and most secure investment to build Palatinate. For centuries it became the favorite seat of government in the German north. At the same time here was a center of Christian faith. They called the city the "Nordic Rome".
